Calling all moms and dads and the POOP specialists

Well it is no joke at all, NASA has issued a call literally for poop specialists with a handsome price whooping 30,000 $.
If you can come up with a way to handle the astro-crap for six days and make something useful with it. The catch is the astronaut would not be changing their gears (pants or diapers) for at least six days. AND survive without the astro-crap aroma.
IF you are the one

Head transplant

Terrified, petrified, horrified, frightened, scared
Weird as it sounds.
It is all over the internet sweeping like a mist around.
This week, 30-year-old Russian man, Valery Spiridonov, announced that he will become the subject of the first human head transplant ever
head
Head transplant
Although sounds quite mind boggling, I found a video on brain transplant.

There is already an outcry on the issue of ethics and religion on this matter. I believe it is not too long before these would become reality, but i seriously doubt if it would be so soon within this decade.
Successful desirable head transplants will be an inevitable frontier in next decade.

How to Scramble Eggs Inside Their Shell

I love to eat delicious food, try new ones.
NightHawkInLight has shown a video on his youtube channel, it is amazing. I never imagined if we can scramble an egg inside the shell.
Enjoy

Rice now healthier to eat.

Researchers in Sri Lanka have discovered a new, simple way of cooking the grain that dramatically cuts its calories by as much as 50 percent, and also offers some other important health benefits. And we're never going to cook rice any other way again.
There are two main types of starches- digestible starches, which our bodies quickly turn into glucose and store as fat if we don't burn it up; and resistant starches, which aren't broken down into glucose in the stomach, so they have a lower calorie content. They instead pass through to the large intestine, where they act more like a dietary fibre and can provide all kinds of useful gut benefits
The coconut oil works by interacting with the starch molecules and changing its architecture. "Cooling for 12 hours will lead to formation of hydrogen bonds between the amylose molecules outside the rice grains which also turns it into a resistant starch," explained James in a press release. And he notes that heating the rice back up afterwards doesn't change the resistant starch levels.
This new cooking technique could lead to new pre-packed rice that's already been cooked in fat and cooled, and is ready to microwave with dramatically less calories than current products.
And, even more importantly, the team now believe that the same technique could be used to make other starchy foods that we love more healthy. "It's about more than rice," Thavarajah told Ferdman. "I mean, can we do the same thing for bread? That's the real question here."

US residents draining Gold, Silver and Precious Metals in poop.

US residents draining Gold, Silver and Precious Metals in poop.

In a recent study US citizens have been convicted of precious poop, by a team at School of Earth and Space Exploration, Arizona State University, United States, lead by Paul Westerhoff "Characterization, Recovery Opportunities, and Valuation of Metals in Municipal Sludges from U.S. Wastewater Treatment Plants Nationwide"

Abstract
U.S. sewage sludges were analyzed for 58 regulated and nonregulated elements by ICP-MS and electron microscopy to explore opportunities for removal and recovery. Sludge/water distribution coefficients (KD, L/kg dry weight) spanned 5 orders of magnitude, indicating significant metal accumulation in biosolids. Rare-earth elements and minor metals (Y, La, Ce, Pr, Nd, Sm, Eu, Gd, Tb, Dy, Ho, Er, Tm, Yb, Lu) detected in sludges showed enrichment factors (EFs) near unity, suggesting dust or soils as likely dominant sources. In contrast, most platinum group elements (i.e., Ru, Rh, Pd, Pt) showed high EF and KD values, indicating anthropogenic sources. Numerous metallic and metal oxide colloids (<100–500 nm diameter) were detected; the morphology of abundant aggregates of primary particles measuring <100 nm provided clues to their origin. For a community of 1 million people, metals in biosolids were valued at up to US$13 million annually. A model incorporating a parameter (KD × EF × $Value) to capture the relative potential for economic value from biosolids revealed the identity of the 13 most lucrative elements (Ag, Cu, Au, P, Fe, Pd, Mn, Zn, Ir, Al, Cd, Ti, Ga, and Cr) with a combined value of US $280/ton of sludge.

Limits of humanity

LIMITS OF LIFE
Humans normally live in fairly comfortable environments, above sea level in fresh air. But thanks to a mutation of a gene that protects against hypoxia, or lack of oxygen, Tibetans can survive on the Tibetan plateau, which at 4500m is one of the highest altitudes still inhabited by humans. However,
humans are outdone by bacteria in black smokers (a type of underwater volcano), which need no oxygen at all. They live on hydrogen sulphide, an acid that turns our brain into juice in minutes. The existence Of life so far removed from earth's atmosphere has led scientists to speculate that life may have started in such deep sea vaults.
