Mercury 7 also known as the ORIGINAL 7 were the riders of the first known pod allowing humans to traverse the then outermost orbit around earth, under the adventurous US space program in 1959. Last week, John Glenn's was the last among these seven brave men to die aged 95.
The Original seven were
  1. Alan B. Shepard, Jr.
  2. John H. Glenn, Jr.
  3. Virgil I. 'Gus' Grissom
  4. Scott Carpenter
  5. L. Gordon Cooper, Jr.
  6. Walter M. Schirra, Jr.
  7. Donald K. 'Deke' Slayton
